Journal Entry[]
Born on the day the first Anomaly storm struck the colony, Channa is a true child of Enoch. She grew up in the dark, muddy alleyways of Rift Town, and it was all she ever knew, until she ran away to start a new life.
Willing to do whatever it took to survive, she unwittingly built a reputation as a fortune teller, with her prophecies reaching an uncanny degree of accuracy. Word of her ability spread, until she found herself trapped under Grand Marshal Corrigan, who exploits her visions to gain advantage in the war with the Insurgents.
Channa believes her visions are genuine, an ability she was cursed with by an Anomaly storm. She can’t control her visions, and each one leaves her feeling tortured and scared. No longer willing to suffer under Corrigan, she tried to escape, but was caught by Marshal Bailey at Deadrock Pass, and brought back to Trench Town with your help.
After Channa's barbed exchange with Jakub, you started to suspect there was history between them. Your suspicion was confirmed when Jakub tried to bargain with Corrigan for her release, on your behalf, claiming Channa is "some kind of daughter".
But the strangest thing of all is, you've seen Channa before, when Shira placed you in cryo. A vision of your own..
---
In the aftermath of your encounter with Moloch, Channa's vision led her to discovering you buried in the rubble of No Man's Land. Corrigan held up his end of the agreement and let Channa go free.
When you walked away, Channa followed and insisted she wanted to join you on on your journey. As she tried to hold you back, you shared a vision of a beautiful garden, a vision Channa has seen before. She believes you are the only person who can lead her to this place, and help this vision come to pass.
Jakub was not pleased to hear Channa would be joining.
---
In the Enclave, you witnessed a heated exchange between Jakub and Channa while they were repairing the truck. After Channa stormed off, Jakub explained their history.
He had rescued Channa's mother, Kasumi, during the disaster of the The Caravel. They reunited on Enoch and lived together, raising Channa. But Kasumi was killed when Channa was only six, leaving Jakub to raise her on his own. Unwilling to suffer another tragedy, Jakub's heart turned cold to Channa. Against all odds, Channa survived without parental oversight or love.
