Forest Enclave is one of the locations on Enoch.
Description[]
Located deep in the forest where the Outrider first encountered the Anomaly, the Enclave was formed by deserters from both the ECA and Insurgents looking to escape the endless war they were reduced to. While the residents still have to contend with Enoch's wildlife, for many the enclave represents an escape from the endless cycle of violence and a chance for true independence.
The nominal leader of the settlement is Dr. Nathan Scurlock, a xenobiologist that developed an antidote to counter the effects of the deadly fungus that decimated previous exploration attempts. However, power and security rests in the hands of Kang Jung-Su, the enclave's head of security.
Synopsis[]
Continuing on the trail of the mysterious signal, the Outrider's group is ambushed on entry by the massive Chrysaloid, who severely damages the group's truck and forces the Outrider to enter its pit and defeat it. On the way back to the truck, the Outrider encounters Kang leading the group through the forest at gunpoint, although Kang convinces the Outrider that he's leading the group to safety especially after Bailey starts showing signs of fungal infection.
At the enclave, the group is greeted by Dr. Scurlock, who administers an antidote that remedies the infection. The Outrider is able to help Jakub repair the truck by locating replacement parts from the very same trucks from their fateful first expedition, preserved in otherwise pristine condition by the Anomaly after more than 30 years. Upon returning, Scurlock invites the group to take part in an induction ceremony for new residents, although the Outrider chooses to get some rest instead.
Most of the group return inebriated, and inform the Outrider about a stone-drawing ritual and how Zahedi and Scurlock went off into the forest discussing scientific matters. However, a prisoner of the enclave overhearing the conversation warns them that Zahedi's life is in danger from Scurlock as a result of the ritual and offers to show them where Scurlock took him if they release him. The Outrider does so, and he leads them to Scurlock's stronghold further into the forest.

We have built this place as a safe haven for anyone fortunate to survive the horror of the trenches. In this sanctuary, deep in the forest, people will finally be able to live their lives away from the hopelessness and bloodshed that seeps through the valley.
We all vow to lay down our lives to protect the common good by whatever means necessary, against threats present and impending.
Under Scurlock's leadership and Kang's protection, we shall welcome many more among us who wish to escape the Endless War and ease our collective burden.
